Terracotta tiles

Roof Issues

Terracotta roofs love growing moss, mould and lichen and over time this build up can cause serious issues. When it’s quite thick it stops the easy flow of water down the roof when it rains. This can sometimes cause leaks and damage to the house.

It can also make it hard to see damaged or broken tiles to be replaced.

EcoSafe Roof Treatment

Once treated, everything including the spores are killed and the roof starts the cleaning process.

Terracotta tiles can be very fragile and the less you walk on them the better. With this method there is no risk of breaking tiles and upsetting capping tiles. It’s a no fuss, no risk option to clean your roof.

Slate Roofs

Tile issues

Slate roofs are beautiful but fragile. They are also impossible to walk on, expensive to repair and love growing moss, mould and lichen.

EcoSafe Roof Treatment

These are the roofs that EcoSafe Roof Treatment is ideal for. Most slate roofs are steep and hard to reach, making access extremely hard. We can apply our EcoSafe Roof Treatment normally from ladders at gutter height. For churches and high roofs we use boom lifts.

We can and have successful pressure cleaned slate roofs but we don’t recommend it due to the high risk of damaging the slate.

Colorbond Roofs

Roof Issues

Colorbond roofs are the most maintenance free roof you can have but they love growing moss, mould and lichen. What most people don’t know is that the moss and lichen causes damage to the coating over time. They also look bad.

EcoSafe Roof Treatment

Once treated, everything including the spores are killed and the roof starts the cleaning process.

Colorbond is one roof type where we could pressure clean without the risk of water leaks and damage, but if you want to save money and have the same end result, then our EcoSafe Roof Treatment is still the best option.

Cement Tiles

Tile Issues

Cement tiles can break down over time becoming brittle due to water damage.

Moss, mould and lichen build up over time and act like sponges, holding water longer on the roof, especially along the nose of each tile. This not only looks bad but it isn’t good for your tiles.

Lazerlite / Fibreglass sheets

Roofing Issues.

Laserlight or Polycarbonate sheet roofing has been around for a long time replacing the old fiberglass sheets. Due to them being used on low pitched areas like verandas, they tend to grow a lot of moss, mould and lichen. With time they do become brittle as well so pressure cleaning  normally blows holes in them. If you still have the old fiberglass sheets, we recommend you just replace them.

EcoSafe Roof Treatment

These roofs are too dangerous to walk on or pressure clean, so our EcoSafe Roof Treatment is the perfect solution when replacement is too costly.

Solar Panel Cleaning

Main issues

With solar panels becoming more common, we are asked often to clean them. They are often placed on the roof in clusters with little to no way to get to them safely, especially on two story roofs. Once moss, mould and lichen start growing on them alone with a build up of dirt, they lose their efficiency. Unless they are kept cleaned you won’t get the full benefit of having them.

EcoSafe Roof Treatment

Due to access issues and the fragile nature of them, pressure cleaning is not an option. This is why our EcoSafe Roof Treatment is a safe and cost effective way of cleaning them.

We start with soft brushes and filtered water to remove any moss or lichen along with the dirt that accumulates over time. We then treat them to kill any spores that remain. This stops any moss or lichen growing back.
